About Chen Lab: Design and Synthesis of Hetero-Nanostructures for Energy Conversion Materials.

In our laboratory, we are focused on design and synthesis of energy conversion materials based on hetero-nanostructures by using electrochemical method, chemical synthesis, and hydrothermal method. By reducing materials to the nanometer scale, we can reveal unique properties that are not observed in conventional bulk materials. This enables the utilization of new functions inherent in nanomaterials. Additionally, by creating hetero-nanostructures through the combination of different nanomaterials, we aim to develop even more diverse functionalities.

These nanomaterials are applied in various energy and environmental fields, such as photoelectrochemical energy conversion (e.g., hydrogen production using photocatalysts) and electrochemical energy storage (e.g., lithium-ion batteries and sodium-ion batteries). By improving the performance of these technologies, we are contributing to the development of new technologies for a sustainable future.
